Starlit memories have loved kissed magic
All of the time dreaming of what was
What is last year?
Where dreams were dreams and reality was on hold
Where kids were just that and growing up was not for miles
The roads were exhilarating
Oh what adventure they held
But all of this is the past
Where is last year?
Gentile rose petals kissing your soft lips
As the sweet aroma beheld your beauty with its own
Little summer showers playing in the puddles
Smiling and dancing, wishing and hoping
Not wanting to grow up
And thinking that day would never be presented
These were the thoughts
Of what was this last year

Ooo. I got chills reading this. This poem would be a wonderful prologue to a fantasy novel.

It reminded me of my childhood days. When we used to make paper boats and leave them in puddles to sail.

I can recall making headbands from flowers many years ago. Thanks for the memory. Those were tender and innocent days. I love the way you include a relevant pic with your poetry posts. They give the poem life and depth, they are pretty and eye catching. Your poetry is wonderful.

You really are a superb poetess! So, who created the image? I don’t see a credit and it appears to have Photoshop brushes in it (especially the birds) that I’ve love to find.
