The darkened side

Disrespect, one ounce is a hurricane
Creeping under the skin
Festering, slowly crippling
Waiting in the shadows
Then emerging, reopening
Screaming, crying, fighting
I’m sorry
Then forgiveness
It beams on the gloom
Breaking it open into morning
Healing for just a glimpse
Being ripped back open
Revealing the ugly complexion of deceit
Wait, wade, worse
Forgive, forget, flounder
